  1. Congratulations to a better well being. For years I have heard condemnation of ECT, how wonderful to hear testimony of someone who has benefited from this treatment.

    • Yes it is. I think a lot people who do well don’t speak out so much re: ECT cuz related social stigma is crippling when they reintegrate into community, work environment and family as they heal.
      One patient was threatened by her son that if she continued ECT she would b disallowed from babysitting her only grandchild. Ouch.
      What would a surgeons patients say if they knew their MD was an ECT pt? Or a helicopter mechanics employer? Or just about anyone receiving one who was ill back into the land of the “healthy” in context of ECT therapy?
