  1. Average because just in case I am beautiful (word not typically applied to male) I would want to be humble.

  2. I’m 40. When I was younger, I probably would have chosen “average”, but as I age, I see the beauty and am more confident, so I would think I’d go through the “beautiful” door. But would psychology play a part in which door I choose – meaning, would I think that others saw me as average, so I would go through the “average” door, so that others don’t think that I am conceded and full of myself? When it comes to women, we are hard on ourselves and on each other. A woman who flat out says they are beautiful are not treated fairly. There’s also another part of me that wants to rebel, where if I saw those doors and I thought of myself as average, I might go through the “beautiful” doors just to spit in the faces of those that don’t think of me as beautiful :).

    • Thank you so much Esther for speaking out with these excellent and oh so familiar thoughts:
      women on women crime
      tall poppy syndrome
main stream behavior because we are…
      You hit it!
No right answer, just something to reflect on.
      Keep on!

  3. I think this has been one of the biggest struggles of my life. I’m going to be 33 this year. It has been very hard for me to see myself as beautiful or believe anyone else can see me that way.

    • Hello Alpine! I’m really glad you spoke out. I’ve been thinking about your wonderfully transparent comment.
I’m learning a lot about stigma these days in preparing for a talk I’m going to participate in and what has blown me away, is the way our stigma against our own selves plays out. Keep on. Your voice is powerful.
